Award selection is based on leadership and community service involvement. The deadline is February 15 of each year. The scholarship amount varies and depends on financial need. Marshall Scholarship for Gay and Lesbian Students recognizes students who have made a contribution to the gay and lesbian community. Scholarships include the Matthew Shepard Memorial Scholarship name used with permission of the Shepard familynamed for the Wyoming college student murdered in for his sexual orientation, and the Laurel Hester Memorial Scholarship.

We are extremely excited to announce our first scholarship contest for students, which will be held on an annual basis. Papers are judged according to the following criteria: Applications must be postmarked by February 1. Candidates must be high school seniors in the Washington DC metropolitan area who will be attending an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States. Deaf Queer youth of color are especially encouraged to apply. It does not retain any log files of individual accesses and deletes all server log files on a weekly basis. These scholarships are intended for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering,or mathematics STEM programs who are either lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender LGBT or an active ally of the LGBT community.
Applications are welcome from students who identify themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or allies. Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time in a Department of Psychology at the graduate level. To be eligible for award, you must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at UNH and demonstrate service to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. General Eligibility Rules and Requirements: Awardees receive a one-time scholarship, paid directly to their school, covering tuition and fees. San Jose State University The Wiggsy Sivertsen Scholarship provides financial assistance to gay and lesbian students or students who have provided service to or worked on behalf of gay and lesbian issues. Applications must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation.
